We are delighted to have been asked again by the London Borough of Newham School Business Management Network to assist them this year with their 2021 Annual Conference and Exhibition.

The event is being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Docklands and will consist of a Conference with keynote speakers Diana Osagie, Stephen Lester, Drew Povey, Jean Boyle and Domanique Beckford, workshops and an education suppliers exhibition.  Please see below for full listings of speakers and exhibitors.

All School Business Managers in Newham and surrounding boroughs are invited to attend and the charge per delegate is £50.00 including VAT and subsequent delegates from the same school is £25.00 including VAT, lunch and all refreshments throughout the day.  Delegates wishing to attend should please register to the left of this page. Please note that this event opens at 8.00am with registration, refreshments, exhibition and an early bird champagne breakfast draw.

Diana Osagie BSC PGCE MA NPQSI DIP Coaching

Founder Courageous Leadership Consultancy & The Academy of Women’s Leadership. Leadership Coach and Trainer - Consultant Head Teacher - School Inspector. With 20 years’ experience leading secondary education, including six years as a successful head teacher in a London secondary school, Diana works at the cutting edge of leadership development. She is known as a resilient school leader, skilled in urban leadership under challenging circumstances. Diana has substantial success in developing school wide models that strategically enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the curriculum and can couple sound strategic vision whilst giving clear operational direction. She lectures on a MA in Educational Leadership for a UK university. Diana is also a school inspector with developed expertise scrutinising school wide systems. With a proven track record of developing leaders via bespoke training programs, Diana also founded The Academy of Women’s Leadership; specialising in supporting women to grow the leadership cultures of their organisations and to flourish as leaders established in confidence, Diana has established capability in mentoring and supporting leaders facing challenging circumstances and change. She is the author of Courageous Leadership, a humorous book that gives school leaders’ strategies to shape their leadership experience. Successful leaders have someone in their corner who understands and has overcome similar challenges. We all need an advocate and that is what Diana becomes when you work together, an advocate for your leadership.

Domanique works at SAAF Education as Payroll Director. Domanique’s in-depth knowledge of the education payroll sector spans many years. Heading up the payroll function, Domanique oversees the entire payroll service for schools, academies, and MATs across the country, and manages SAAF’s internal payroll.

Drew has over twenty years of professional experience in multi-sector executive-level leadership across a wide range of sectors including Elite sport, Corporate, Non-Profit and Government settings. This extensive experience has afforded Drew a broad leadership viewpoint and an ability to catapult leaders into the next level of personal and professional performance. Drew is continually exploring and developing the latest thinking and practice to best prepare and empower individuals, teams and organisations for this ever-changing world in which we live.
Jean Boyle

Jean Boyle

With over 10 years’ post qualification experience in the education sector, Jean is an accomplished employment lawyer who specialises in acting for those in the not for profit and education sector and is fully versed in the employment law issues facing these organisations. Jean has extensive experience in advising a range of clients on all aspects of employment law. She has particular expertise in TUPE issues especially on outsourcing and has supported many clients through complex TUPE transfers. Alongside the other partners in the team, Jean acts for clients in relation to the most complex advisory cases and supervises junior colleagues in dealing with routine enquiries. Since joining Stone King in 2008 Jean has developed a niche practice alongside her employment advice which provides support to schools on issues relating to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and the Local Government Pension Scheme. In this respect Jean has particular expertise in relation to public to private sector outsourcing and admission arrangements. Jean aims to provide practical, sector specific advice and works with clients to support their strategic plans and provide client focused support. Jean is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Association of Pension Lawyers, is a regular speaker at national and regional conferences and writes for numerous publications on sector specific issues.
Stephen Lester - Institute of School Business Leadership

Stephen Lester - Institute of School Business Leadership

Appointed an MBE for services to education in 2018, Stephen is Chair of both ISBL Trustees and Cumbria Association of School Business and Administration, a School Resource Management Advisor, a member of the ESFA Academies Finance and Assurance Steering Group, leading on annual review of the Academies Financial Handbook, and has recently, in 2020, retired as Chief Operating Officer at West Lakes Multi Academy Trust, Egremont, Cumbria. He believes in cooperative, collaborative leadership and team working to deliver outstanding outcomes, team and individual development. Following a successful career in Food and Agriculture, he is now an experienced and effective School Business Professional who has been involved in leadership of conversion to Academy status, the establishment and expansion of a multi-academy trust, leadership of local SBL groups, mentoring of CSBM and DSBM candidates and contributing to the SRMA program including Academy and Local Authority deployments, induction, assessment, quality assurance and mentoring. He tries to keep physically active through running (especially fell running), hill walking and cycling and also enjoys reading and gardening.
