Festival of Education 2025
Event Dates and Prices
Monday 16th June to Thursday 19th June 2025
LIFE Education Trust, Havering Education Services, Havering Academy of Leadership and Hornchurch Academy Trust, in partnership with Davenant Foundation School, are delighted to be welcoming schools to register for this year’s Festival of Education.
Building on the success of previous years, the Festival this year continues to offer purposeful CPD to teachers and school leaders. The Festival will launch on the Monday afternoon with an inspiring keynote address from Mary Myatt. Throughout the week opportunities to engage with key speakers in education are available to everyone. Tuesday there is an engaging and interactive 90-minute workshop with Teacher Toolkit Ross McGill on a Guide to Memory. On Wednesday there are two different pedagogical sessions with Walk Thru Tom Sherrington and on Thursday Sue Cowley delivers two sessions in the Inclusion strand. Alongside our key speakers we have a range of local and national talent speaking, including speakers from the Paul Dix Foundation and Nimish Lad author of MARGE Model of Learning plus Lekha Sharma, author of two books: Building Culture and Curriculum to Classroom. The Festival provides all Primary and Secondary teachers and leaders with a comprehensive programme of both in person and virtual presentations, seminars and discussions.
We launch this year for the first time a traditional Teach Meet at Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls in Romford. We encourage teachers to join the in person, fun and informal way to gain CPD between 4.30-5.30pm on Thursday 19th June. Participants have 3 minutes to share an aspect of teaching and this could be a hack, a time saving tip, a classroom steal or an excellent example of good practice. All are welcome.
In support of the Havering Vision for Education, three strands have again been chosen for the week; Leadership, Pedagogy and Inclusion and participants can choose as many sessions as they would like. A full programme may be viewed and downloaded below.
Following the Festival, sessions will be available from the Havering Festival of Education online website.
Delegates attending the in person sessions are required to wear their school ID lanyards for identification purposes.
Participants are kindly requested to register to attend the Festival by using the online form below and to indicate the sessions they will be attending. The completion of this information would be appreciated since it provides useful information for speakers when planning the format of their sessions.
