Neurodiversity: Celebrate minds of all kinds

Mondale Events and Leeds City Council are delighted to be organising this one day Conference and Exhibition. Head Teachers, SEN Co-ordinators and Intervention Managers from Leeds schools who have already signed up for SENCo networks and conferences package (SLA) are being invited to attend this popular conference.

Neurodiversity is becoming increasingly a part of the discourse around education, but what do these terms neurodiversity and neurodivergent mean and what are the implications for schools? Our speakers this year will prompt us to see the positive and practical benefits of embracing neurodiversity, not just for pupils but for the whole school community by asking ‘What does it really mean to foster, accept and support neurodiversity in a school?

This year’s keynote speaker is Emma Weaver from the ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity and she will explore the characteristics of ADHD, co-occurrence and the female presentation.  Delegates will be introduced to the key characteristics present across all neurotypes and best practice strategies to create neuro-inclusive classroom environments.  There will also be a presentation from the CAMHS neurodevelopment team who have been instrumental in developing the Mindmate Neurodiversity Information Hub.

Two staff per school are invited: head teachers, senior leaders or SENCOs for the morning session and SENCOs for the full day, including a range of workshops. Full workshop details and programme are available here. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day together with a buffet lunch for those delegates staying all day.

Alongside the Conference, Mondale Events are delighted to have been asked to organise an exhibition where a range of companies and organisations supplying to both Primary and Secondary Education will be displaying their products and services.

This event is likely to be very popular and companies wishing to exhibit are urged to book their space as soon as possible. Please view the list of those exhibitors already participating and contact us using the form below, should you be a Company wishing to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to promote your activity in this marketplace.
