We are delighted to now be hosting once again this one-day annual Conference at the London Chigwell Prince Regent Hotel and to be welcoming back to this popular event both education suppliers and School Business Leaders and support staff from Waltham Forest, Redbridge and surrounding boroughs.

A range of Keynote Speakers will be delivering an exciting and varied programme covering a range of topics of interest to the target audience.  A full programme is available to view and download below.

 

The cost per delegate is £55.00 exc. VAT, including lunch and all refreshments throughout the day and any subsequent delegates from the same school will be eligible to a discounted place at a cost of £45.00 exc VAT per person.  Delegates should register below and note that early bird discounts will apply until 31 May 2022.

Stakeholder and Engagement Manager, Schools Commercial Team, Department for Education Helen is part of the schools facing Engagement and Outreach Team within the Schools Commercial Team. Our remit is to support all schools with help in buying compliantly and delivering value for money. Before joining the DfE Commercial Division Helen was Head of Commercial at MOD, Service Children’s Education. Helen has over 30 years’ experience in a number of procurement and administrative roles working in both the public and private sector. She is also a student member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply as well as being a Governor of a Nursery School.

Natalie is the School Business Leader policy advisor at NAHT, the school leadership union. NAHT represents more than 34,500 school leaders in early years, primary, secondary and special schools, making it the largest association for school leaders in the UK. Natalie leads on ensuring NAHT’s policy work covers the bigger picture of leadership and management in school and reflects the needs and views of school business leaders. Natalie works closely with NAHT’s school business leaders council, who act as representatives for NAHT’s business members, and help guide the work of the Union in relation to business leader priorities and issues.

Nickii formed her company, All The Geese, in 2009 to specialise in training, developing, and promoting school business management and leadership. A well-known national and international conference speaker, author, and contributor to educational publications, and with many years’ experience as a school business leader across three school phases, Nickii was instrumental in working with the National College to launch the SBM role and associated training programmes. Nickii is intensely aware of the ever-growing pressure on school business professionals (particularly over the past two years or so) and is keen to help colleagues at all levels develop the skills and confidence to embrace the ever more complex challenges we face whilst still, crucially, looking after our own wellbeing. Poppy is representing Ixion(Part of Shaw Trust), a Grade 1 ‘outstanding provider’ as a Business Development Manager and is delighted to be joining us today to talk about apprenticeships and training. Poppy was awarded ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year’ for her work in the apprenticeship sector nationally and is absolutely passionate about work based learning and has 19 years’ experience in the world of apprenticeships working and account managing a plethora or employers, schools, colleges and universities ranging from the BBC to John Lewis. Poppy has worked closely with the Minister of Education regarding the new Standards and has a specialist knowledge of IT and Digital Marketing apprenticeships and is passionate about social media and niche and new ways of learning. Poppy is an absolute ambassador for apprenticeships, upskilling staff in the workplace and working with fantastic employers!
Sarra Pardali

Sarra Pardali

Sarra is the Head of Infrastructure and Sustainability for the Girls’ Day School Trust, a charity that owns and runs a network of 25 schools in England and Wales, including 23 independent schools and two Academies. Sarra is a Chartered Environmentalist and a Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. With over 15 years of experience in the built environment, Sarra is committed to delivering buildings and infrastructure that work with their environment and are part of the solution to the global challenge of climate change. During her time at the GDST her role has been encompassing operational and sustainability in education aspects, including an Estate Decarbonisation plan to help deliver the GDST ambition to contribute positively to the environment through an emerging Net Zero Strategy; as well as a carbon literacy programme for school sustainability leads. Sarra understands the multidimensional challenges while delivering solutions that respond to the climate change and biodiversity crises, especially in the education sector. At the same time, the sector offers a unique opportunity to promote the fundamental behavioural and systemic changes necessary to tackle these and her focus has been on finding ways to leverage and amplify the opportunities.
Stephanie Davies

Stephanie Davies

Stephanie is Laughology’s founder and CEO. Stephanie has over 20 years’ experience working in the public and private sector which has gained her an unsurpassed reputation for designing and delivering laughter and humour interventions for young people and adults in various settings. Recognised as one of the leading voices in the UK on happiness, humour and laughter, Stephanie is increasingly in demand in the world of education and development. In the last 20 years, she has worked on community projects to enhance wellbeing and happiness, helped design spaces more conducive to learning and healthy living, used humour and laughter to communicate public health messages and is the founder of the Happy-Centred School programme. A programme that puts happiness at the heart of the curriculum and has seen schools who take part increase outcomes and results on every level. On leaving the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in 2002 she began performing stand-up comedy, and is an award-winning comedian. Her years of experience on the comedy circuit make her the perfect speaker and presenter, with delivery that is witty and informative she has worked her way round some of the most prestigious events and venues including speaking at Whitehall,the world famous Gesundheit institute USA and recently sharing a stage with Dr Martin Seligman at the International positive education conference in Dallas. Stephanie has developed and advised on government initiatives to promote healthy communities and delivered long term solutions to building community relationships in challenging areas. The unique approach of Laughology founded and developed by Stephanie Davies looks at how individuals can be resilient human beings and live lives that flourish and are happy and healthy.
